The post-Labor Day fall art season is officially in full swing, and this Thursday brings another major night of openings across downtown Manhattan. Part three of our fall season opener takes us through the Lower East Side, Chinatown, SoHo, and Two Bridges, where galleries are opening new exhibitions throughout the evening.
Shows are generally open from 6 to 8 PM unless otherwise noted. The next post will cover Thursday’s Tribeca openings, continuing our guide to this week’s post-Labor Day fall season kickoff.

Our featured artist today is Harker, whose exhibition Endless Romance Forever explores the unstable relationship between image, desire, and belief. Through motifs of shining gold, refracting glass, masks, and cinematic afterimages, the paintings occupy the uneasy space where attraction and unease become inseparable.
Harker’s work moves through dream logic, memory, and artifice, questioning what lies beneath the seductive surfaces of images and the stories we construct around them. Familiar forms begin to unravel, certainty gives way to ambiguity, and what initially appears enchanting becomes increasingly difficult to understand.
